Water Actors in Faryab

MRRD has one drilling rig in Faryab and drills a few boreholes each year. MRRD also support the use of emergency water supply by tankers for distressed communities.

Projects: NSP also covering water supply activities have been facilitated with the support of hte NGOs of GAA, ACTED and CHA.

Norwegian funded projects with WatSan components in Faryab in mainly implemented though DACAAR and NCA.

ECO projects covering WatSan compenents have mainly been implemented though INTERSOS.

The table 2.2.1 above shows number of wells visited by DACAAR inspection team in 2009 . It clearly show that there are many wells in operation and working at that time. The challenges are to use current knowlegde to develop sustainable water supply coverage further to reach all.
